Question:

I do not want my Persons in Pipedrive to all sync, although I do want to use PipeChimp to synchronize the contacts. Right now the lack of ability to control which contacts synchronize is going to prevent me from signing up for a paid account & using the service.
I would like to use PipeChimp for synchronization BUT don’t want it to blindly synchronize my entire Pipedrive account. My reason is that I have thousands of contacts in Pipedrive that are either not part of the audience to which my email list is targeted (e.g. I have vendors and some competitors’ information, plus with the new mailbox account integration with Pipedrive, it is adding more people who in some cases are just personal contacts.) While I could filter via segments in Mailchimp, the net result is that I am ending up with thousands more records in Mailchimp which is bumping me up multiple billing tiers for contacts that I am not actively going to use.
Unfortunately the option to set a Person record ownership to another account in Pipedrive is not a workaround for me. I am a one-man operation on the sales side so we do not have a second user account to which I could assign those persons.
Currently, I have one simple filter in Pipedrive that is populated with the accounts that meet my criteria to go over to Mailchimp. That is what I select to synchronize my contacts to Mailchimp today via Pipedrive’s one-way publish. If PipeChimp could support filter_id in their GET /persons call it would solve all of those problems and I would be a happy new subscriber!
Now I need to go delete a ton of mailchimp contacts! Please feel free to email me w/ follow up questions.

Hello Jeremy

This is a great idea for a feature. Pipechimp is relatively new service and so far we have been collecting customer feedback. At the moment we are planning our next version of Pipechimp so your feedback is very valuable. Next week we are opening dedicated section for improvement ideas where people can give and vote features for our next version. After all, we are building this service for you and our other clients.

Hi,
I can only very much stress the point being made.
There definitely should be a way to filter the contacty being synced from PipeDrive. Another tool I am using (PipeDriveOutlookSync) has implement this – you can use one of the filters that you did set up in PipeDrive to determine the contacts being synced.
Me too, I hava a lot lot of contacts in PipeDrive, but not all should be in MailChimp. Many are open leads, that are not yet on a mailing list, or are for my information in PipeDrive.
I want to keep the free MailChimp account with 2,000 subscribers, and not pay mor than 30$ per month for options, I do not use!
Another solution or very good feature:
Maybe it is possible to integrate several MAilChimp accounts via API in PipeChimp?
I have different fields in my business with different user groups. So I am planning to set up different MailChimp accounts for each of them.
Filter 1 in PipeDrive syncs with MailChimp account 1
Filter 2 in PipeDrive syncs with MailChimp account 2
Would be nice, but essential is in my opinion to be able to use a filtering option to select contacts in PipeDrive!!!
Thank you
Tobias

Thanks for the reply. And thanks for chiming in Tobias.
From my perspective this is no-doubt the #1 feature. It is, in fact, going to prevent me from signing up until it is implemented unfortunately. As Tobias noted, I’d currently end up paying an additional $25/month to Mailchimp for contacts I simply have no need for in that tool.
Since this is a standard function of the Pipedrive API, having the option to implement the filter_id in the person call, I’m hoping it will be a relatively easy piece of functionality to implement. I’ll watch for it to be added – feel free to send me a note when it is in place, though, or if you’d like a beta tester!
Have a wonderful day. Jeremy
